Fees for Therapy

My fee is $240 for a 50 minute session. EMDR (usually 90 minutes) or longer sessions are charged prorata. My fees are below the APS suggested scheduled fee of $318 per 50 minute session.

Medicare

You do not need a doctor's referral to see me, unless you wish you claim rebates from Medicare for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. The rebate is $145.25 per session. You’re eligible for Medicare rebates under the Better Access initiative if you're referred by a GP (or psychiatrist) for what Medicare have termed a ‘diagnosable mental health condition’. These conditions include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment difficulties, problems with substances, and more.

How It Works

To access Medicare rebates, you'll first need to have a consultation with your GP or psychiatrist, during which they will prepare a Mental Health Care Plan and a referral letter. Sometimes clinics send these documents to me, but if not, please bring them with you.

This referral allows you to access up to 6 sessions initially. After your 6th session, I will provide your GP with a brief progress report and recommendation. To be able to access the remaining 4 sessions, return to your GP for the next referral before our next session to continue claiming the rebate.

Payment is required on the day of your session. I’ll process your Medicare rebate and email you both the receipt and your Medicare claim statement. You can keep track of how many Medicare sessions you’ve used by checking the upper right quadrant of your invoice, under the heading Medicare Claim. It looks like this: Referral Date: 12-Jun-2025 (4th of 6 appts).

Dependent on what is happening in your life and with our treatment, we may still need to have sessions beyond the 10 offered by Medicare. If you have a private health fund, and it covers you for psychology, you will also most likely be able to claim a rebate from your fund for sessions held after those you’ve had under Medicare.

Clinical Supervision

Please contact me via the next page to discuss rates for supervision. Rates for individual supervision are similar to therapy rates; group rates are dependent on the number of participants.

Please note, I do not work with legal issues or write medico-legal reports. I do not work in the SIRA (e.g. CTP & workers compensation) space. If you are looking for a therapist to work with you under a worker’s compensation or CTP claim, you can find someone via this link.
