“It’s never too late to be who you were meant to be.” —George Eliot (with thanks to Janina Fisher)
I'm a queer, cis-gendered woman - my pronouns are she/her. My practice is supportive of all gender and sexual identities. I’ve had the privilege of working with a lot of people who’ve talked with me about issues related to their sexuality, their gender, or both.
I am an experienced Clinical Psychologist- I'm passionate about empowering people towards wellness through using a strengths-based approach and working with you to help you be in touch with life’s glimmers. My counselling practice is Trauma Informed.
I have been trained in and draw on a range of evidence based psychological approaches including:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
Trauma Informed Stabilisation Treatment
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Solution Focussed Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Narrative Therapy
Schema Therapy
Interpersonal Psychotherapy
DBT Skills training
Clinical applications of Polyvagal Theory
I have worked with clients and supervisees in both public and private settings with a broad range of issues. I have particular interests in compassionate self-care, trauma recovery, clinician well-being, managing life transitions, and in the treatment of anxiety, depression, substance use, living with chronic illness and managing stress. My initial training was in Nursing, where I worked across several health environments, so I have a reasonably good understanding of the intersections between physical illnesses and emotional well being.
